Toblerone Christmas cookie recipe


I am the owner of a Sweet Treat Recipe Group on Facebook, and one of the members, Loni Riehl, posted this recipe and gave me permission to share it here!

After making it, I decided that it will be added to my Christmas cookie platter every year! It is THAT delicious!

Swiss Mountain Shortbread

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups butter, salted
  • 3 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 14 ounces Toblerone bars
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar - for dusting

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Beat butter until very light.

Beat in sugar for about 5 minutes.

Add flour, cornstarch to mixture. 

Chop chocolate into chocolate chip sized pieces. Save about 60 larger chunks and set aside. Mix remaining chocolate into mixture. 

Scoop with small cookie or ice cream scoop onto prepared sheets. 

Press a larger chunk onto each cookie, pressing down a bit. 

Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly browned. 

Cool and sift with powdered sugar.

Makes 50 to 60 cookies.
