Thanksgiving sides: Macaroni and cheese recipe


This recipe is cheesy deliciousness and it is made on the stove top which frees up the oven for other  things while you are cooking your Turkey Day meal. 

Macaroni and Cheese

1/4 cup butter, salted

1/4 cup flour

1/4 tsp salt

2 shakes black pepper

2 cups milk

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (sharp)

6 cups elbow pasta, cooked (3 cups dried)


Boil water for pasta, add a teaspoon of salt and cook until al dent.  

While cooking, in a large saucepan melt butter over low / medium heat.

After melted, add flour and whisk together until smooth.

Add salt and pepper and whisk to combine.

Continue whisking.

When mixture becomes thick, remove from heat.

Add cheese and stir until melted. 

Fold in cooked pasta.

Serve immediately.
