No bake crispy butterscotch bars



Happy Tuesday! Who feels like baking on a Tuesday? Probably not too many of us. This is a great treat for the family to make together and does not require turning on the oven.

Crispy Butterscotch Bars


  • 1 Bag of butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 Cup peanut butter
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine or butter
  • 5 Cups of rice crispies


Place crispies in a large bowl.
Line a 13x9 pan with non-stick foil and spray with butter spray.
Melt chips, peanut butter and butter in double broiler over medium heat. *
Pour mixture over crispies and stir until well blended.
Place mixture in 13x9 pan.
Chill for 20-30 minutes, cut and enjoy!

* If you do not have a double broiler, make one! Take a sauce pot and fill it half way with water. Place a glass bowl over the pot. Be sure it can sit in the rim of the pot and the bowl is not floating on the water. Now, you have a double broiler!
The reason for this is so that the chips are not sitting directly on a flame. If they do, the can easily burn.
